Breeder’s Cup Is Here Again!

Most people think that the major horse races occur in the spring and summer.  However the Breeder’s Cup is the biggest weekend in horse racing, second only to the Kentucky Derby.

This year’s Breeder’s Cup Race is on November 4th and 5th, at Santa Anita Park.

If I was attending Breeder’s Cup, here are a few selections that I might consider. Visit our Breeder’s Cup page.

While I love this dress, it has a lot going on in the pattern.  I think a simple fascinator in this soft, shimmery shade of gray would highlight the dress nicely.

I love the soft flow of this pale pink dress.  It’s contemporary, comfortable for a day at the races.  I think Snowdrop has the flirtiness and flow to work with this cool, trendy dress.

Nothing is as dramatic to me as a hot red dress.  I adore the lines on the back of this dress.  Add the Ellie hatinator/saucer hat to this for a drop dead winning combination.  Be prepared to stop for lots of photos. The cameras will not be able to resist you in this combination!

The perfect Breeder’s Cup classic!

Do Ladies Wear Hats to the Breeder’s Cup? Yes!

I have been getting the question “Do ladies actually wear hats to the Breeder’s Cup?” Sometimes they do, sometimes not. However this year since the Breeder’s Cup is at Churchill Downs, which is the home of the Kentucky Derby, they will wear hats.

Covertside
Covertside

What sort of hat would I recommend for the Breeder’s Cup Races, held on November 5 and 6th? I would recommend something small, such as Covertside. This black top hat with removable black feather flower and chenille dot veiling is a classic take on the riding hat.

Emmaline

A slightly larger hat would be Emmaline. This is a take on my classic Simply Elegant style. With the camel color hat with chocolate edging and feather trim, this hat would be easy to coordinate with most any outfit.

If you opt for a more daring color, I would suggest Nina. This purple cloche with navy edging is small and easy to wear. The feather flower is removable as well.
